Chhaava broke Gully Boy’s 2019 record of Rs 19.40 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian film on Valentine’s Day.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has made a remarkable entry into 2025, achieving an impressive ₹31 crore on its opening day. This historical action drama has not only become the biggest Bollywood opener of the year but also marks the highest opening day collection for Vicky Kaushal himself. The film’s success has surpassed expectations, overshadowing Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which previously held the top spot with ₹15.30 crore.The film had an overall 35.17% occupancy in Hindi on its first day. Furthermore, With this impressive total, Chhaava has become Vicky Kaushal’s biggest opener, easily surpassing the Rs 8.20 crore record set by Uri: The Surgical Strike.
The film became the biggest opening of 2025. It also surpassed the record set by Gully Boy for the highest collection on Valentine’s Day by an Indian film. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has finally arrived in theatres after a long wait on Friday, February 14. Apart from Vicky, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna playing important roles.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is a historical action film based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal.

Meanwhile, the film has received a positive response from critics and audiences. However, people who are unable to visit theatres are eagerly waiting for its OTT release and they are willing to know about the platform where the film will arrive after its theatrical run. Reports suggest Netflix has bagged Chhaava’s OTT rights. The film might start streaming in the second week of April.

In comparison, Sky Force recorded a morning show occupancy of 10.29 percent on its release day, while Badass Ravi Kumar saw 13.09 percent.
