onijah Andrew Robinson, 33, arrived in Karachi in October to meet 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon after an online relationship.

An American woman who has been in the media storm after traveling to Karachi in pursuit of a Pakistani man she befriended online who ultimately refused to marry her said this week she doesn’t feel betrayed but wants to stay in Pakistan for now and be paid a weekly allowance.
Onijah Andrew Robinson, 33, arrived in Karachi in October to meet 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, who later abandoned her saying his family was not agreeing to their marriage. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Moreover Facing family pressure, Nidal withdrew from his promise, leaving Onijah stranded in an unfamiliar country with an expired tourist visa and no support.
Robinson’s story came to light after local activist and YouTuber Zaffar Abbas publicized it on social media, with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori intervening to extend her expired visa and arrange a flight home.
Robinson, however, refused to board the flight this week, according to Station House Officer Kaleem Khan Moosa. She instead took a taxi to Memon’s apartment building in whose parking area she stayed for nearly 30 hours on Thursday before leaving for a Chhipa charity shelter, where she is expected to remain until her return to the US. However Sources claimed that the woman was moved to the hospital’s psychiatric ward, adding that she was brought to the hospital last night by the police. They also quoted hospital officials as saying that the initial examination revealed Onijah’s feet were excessively swollen and she sounded incoherent and disoriented. The hospital staff is conducting various diagnostic tests after taking Onijah’s blood samples.

MENTAL Disorder :
According to a Dialogue Pakistan report, Onija’s son Jeremiah Andrew Robinson has claimed that his mother is “mentally ill” and is struggling with bipolar disorder. Moreover In a video with a blurred face, Jerimiah identified Onijah as his mother. He also showed a birth certificate which mentions that Onijah gave birth to him in April 2008 at New York’s Queens Hospital Centre. Furthermore, he stated that both he and his brother had made numerous attempts to convince their mother to return, even booking her return ticket. Despite their efforts, she refused to agree to come back.
Onijah’s Surprising Demands :
Onijah Robinson, who was camped outside Nidal’s house, made two rather unusual requests: For her lover to shell out $3,000 per week (which is close to PKR 9 lakh) and to become a Pakistani citizen. Furthermore, she added that her plan is to rebuild this entire country. I’m asking for $100k, and I need $20k in cash by the end of this week. That’s my demand from the government. The government needs to fix these streets… it’s ridiculous here, I don’t like it. You all need to understand that Pakistan need new buses, taxis and cars. In response to that a citizen from Karachi Sharif Sheerani, 62ears old, said he was ready to marry Robinson and move with her to the US if she paid him $50,000.
